Breaking the Internet: #AZLatinaInfluencers Share Blogging Tips and Stories

azlatinainfluencersDid the hashtag #AzLatinaInfluencers break the Internet?  Probably not.  But hey, we gave it our best….

Once again the event was well attended (approx 75) and this time it was with three very successful Latina bloggers who shared tips on how to make oneself successful in the ever-growing blogging world. These ladies, Kathy Cano Murillo, Diana Bejarano and Christy Wilson, told the audience their stories on how they started blogging to how to maintain steady traffic on their websites. They stressed the importance of how successful blogs come from those who put in the time and effort.

Kathy mentioned how at the beginning she would work her job by day and then work on her blog at night. She stressed the fact that if it’s something that one has a passion for, then in the end it’s all worth it. Kathy also mentioned that in order to be successful one has to become a writer, photographer and an analyst because companies will want to see high quality product. Another very important point that Kathy made during her presentation was that if you find your post boring, then the people who are reading your post will most likely also find it boring.

Diana was asked how she managed her time due to the fact that she works a very demanding role at Arizona State University as a marketing professional. She shared with the audience that it was all about prioritization and time management. Diana explained how she wants to be a voice for Latinas that have gone through troubling situations nationwide.  The reason she started blogging was to encourage Latina empowerment and she believes that one woman’s story can motivate many more.

Christy, who blogs about nutrition, shared with the crowd ideas on how to become a better writer. She mentioned that when she first started she would go to her really good friends and have them read and edit her content right in front of her. She stressed that is better to have your close friends criticize your writing than to have the internet do it.

In the end, these three talented ladies, with their tips, stories and humor, got the audience motivated and ready to venture off into the blogging world.

During the event the audience used the hashtag #AzLatinaInfluencers to share their thoughts and pics.  Check out the action below!
