Q. Can Collectivo issue receipts for charity gifts?
A. Not yet, but a charity registration has been filed. It will be possible to get a tax refund for up to 50% of the gifts.

Q. How does the points system work?
A. Each given dollar worth one point each month, for 12 months. Points give project selection rights in the form of supports and votes.

Q. What are the projects acceptance criteria?
A. A project must have a philanthropic objective, and must not contain partisan political activities, dogmatic or religious activities, neither activism. The sustainable development is at the heart of Collectivo’s target. The projects could target, for example, to start an enterprise which valorizes rehabilitated employees, to install vegetable gardens as green rooftops in a challenged sector, to start a housing cooperative, to repair a Youth House, to develop a public technological patent, to buy and deliver medical supplies and school materials for a Third-World country…

Q. Who can propose a project?
A. The public is invited to propose projects. The proposer is the person that will be in charge of the project execution and will assume its total responsibility. The projects are budgeted as fixed-fee contracts and no cost overrun will be paid.

Q. My project requires a starting capitalization for material acquisition or for personnel salaries, but I don’t have any funds. Can Collectivo financially help me before the project execution?
A. Yes, Collectivo may advance capitals in order to help projects start and complete.

Q. How does the project selection work?
A. The selection is performed in two turns, on a monthly basis. The accepted proposals are published and enter the qualification cycle. The donors give their supports (1 support per point per month) to the projects they prefer. At the end of the month, the 3 projects that accrued the most supports for the last 12 months enter the election cycle. The donors vote (1 vote per point per month) for the projects they prefer, or to start no projects. The project that accrued the mose votes during the months is funded and starts.
