Kathy Cano-Murillo is a writer, novelist, artist, illustrator and founder of the award-winning site, CraftyChica.com.  We are proud that Kathy will be one of our guest speakers at our discussion panel on May 13th, “Successful Latina Influencers: Tips For Bloggers And Brands.” Known for her glittery “Mexi-boho” style, she is a national spokesperson for iLoveToCreate and a creative influencer for Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores. She has a product line that is carried in Michaels stores and is a former columnist for The Arizona Republic, and has authored nine books, two of them novels. She has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, HGTV, DIY Network, Lifetime TV, and more. When Kathy isn’t designing, crafting, or writing books, she tours the country teaching classes and giving motivation and business presentations.

In 2001, Kathy launched CraftyChica.com, a wildly popular web site to inspire women to brighten their lives with clever lifestyle ideas. The site began as an online diary about juggling family, a full-time job as a newspaper reporter and a craft designer by night. Now in it’s 13th year, CraftyChica.com has evolved into a well-rounded lifestyle site that is anchored in DIY and crafts, but also embraces books, shopping, fashion, business, movies, food, travel, beauty, tech, family life and more. She is a third-generation Mexican-American, a native Phoenician, mom, wifey, with four Chihuahuas. Kathy is also working on two new product lines and is a weekly columnist for Latina.com.

Collectivo believes that good education should be complimentary. This idea is not new, think of your public library system for example. However, too often when we think of attending an educational event or mini-conference the cost can be $20+ and even up to a few hundred dollars. Our belief at Collectivo is that good content should be free to attendees and that internal costs can be covered through the help of our sponsors.

Being completely free helps differentiate Collectivo from other educational and networking organizations in the Phoenix valley. Collectivo offers free educational events all year long and brings in high caliber presenters from across the nation that are relevant to marketers and media professionals that work to engage the Hispanic audience. By providing free educational events we are helping to enhance our business community and raise awareness for Phoenix marketers as a thought-leading community.

And that is why Collectivo is free.
